Scratch adventures and activities, helping to make learning Scratch easy to learn and great fun.
NEW! From Autumn term 2017 includes Python coding.
Ideal for junior programmers aged 6 years to 12 years.
Rainforest Coding makes learning Scratch (and Python) coding fun and intuitive and provides an effective approach for children to achieve in this area of the curriculum. As children try and save the rainforest in a world of scientists, robots and villains, they will be enhancing their problem-solving skills as they work their way through the structured activities.

Rainforest Coding Introduces Scratch coding from the very beginning in a logical and sequential manner.
It includes 23 carefully structured activities, starting with basic Scratch concepts and moving on to more advanced techniques such as making blocks, cloning, broadcasting, conditional statements, variables and operators.
Links to real Scratch projects are included in several of the modules.
All the activities include animated, interactive explanations, allowing students to work independently for a learner led experience. Only by learning enough Coding techniques can the students save the rainforest in an adventure involving scientists, robots and villains.
They are also presented in our own controlled Scratch (and Python) environments. This isolates the techniques being introduced and ultimately ensures all students will succeed, giving them the confidence that they CAN code.
Regular use of Rainforest Coding also:
Develops independent thinking
Develops logical thinking skills
Tests problem-solving skills
Encourages working collaboratively when used in small groups
Boosts computational thinking and coding skills that will help them when they later progress onto real-world programming
Now with a Python Module… “Escape from Robot City!”
